Whether you are in US, UK, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai or for that matter anywhere in the world outside West Bengal, one of your biggest worries is the “Medical Emergency” of your elderly parents and other near and dear ones staying in Kolkata or in districts of West Bengal.
When the dreaded phone call comes that one of your parents has fallen ill and you’re the only person they can turn to for guidance and support, the feeling of helplessness can be overwhelming. What they cannot understand is that you are living far away and all the money in the world cannot ensure that the right decision will be taken and the best treatment will be made available to your ailing parent. You begin to question yourself whether it was at all worthwhile to venture outside West Bengal, leaving your parents without the necessary support in their old age. In a desperate attempt, you resort to calling up your old friends, relatives and acquaintances, so that they can help out – be it getting an ambulance or a doctor – just someone or somebody who could fill in your shoes at such an hour of crisis! And this is where DESUN comes in.
Beside having our own fleet of ambulances, we work with a wide network of external ambulance services provided by various agencies not only in Kolkata but in nearly all the other districts of West Bengal. We regularly get patients from the districts through such third-party ambulance services who also get dropped back at home after discharge.
DESUN is equipped to send ambulances to any location in any one of the areas above within the shortest possible time and pick up the patient to be brought directly to DESUN. To avail this lifesaving service, register for a DESUN NRI Photo Card or DESUN NROB Photo Card today.
Gift your parents the unique DESUN NRI Photo Card or DESUN NROB Photo Card and ensure prompt medical attention whenever they need it. Applying for the DESUN NRI Photo Card or DESUN NROB Photo Card is easy:
Once we receive all the above the Photo Card will be issued (which is like a barcoded credit card) and will carry the photo of the member and a unique number. The Photo card will be mailed to the address given for the purpose and a photo of this card will be e-mailed to you. The card is valid for one year only.
During a medical emergency, the Photo Card holder or anybody else may contact DESUN. The caller will be asked for the name of the patient and the NROB/NRI Registration Number.
We will contact the nearest ambulance service in case our own ambulances are not available and will also call at the patient’s number (provided to us during registration) to determine where he/she needs to be picked up from. An ambulance will be dispatched to this address to pick up the patient and bring him/her directly to DESUN Emergency.
At the hospital Emergency, the patient condition will be assessed and our specialist doctors will take over. Two persons earmarked by you staying in West Bengal will be in touch with the hospital and they will be updated on all aspects of patient condition, billing and other details.
