HOW MALARIA IMPACTS

Now the parasite reaches the LIVER and they mature. Depending on various factors within few days the parasite enters the bloodstream and start impacting the RED BLOOD CELLS. It is usually within 2-3 days the parasites in the blood cells multiply and the infection gets its enormity.

The parasites keep on infecting the blood cells and mostly the symptoms of malaria last for 2-3 days if there is timely treatment. In absence of proper and timely treatment recovery can delay, the symptoms can be very severe and patient may not survive.

4 (Four) types of Malaria parasite can infect humans.

Plasmodium Vivax through mosquito bite

  1. Ovale
  2. malariae
  3. falciparum is very severe and there is a higher chance of death in this type of malaria

Congenital malaria is when a baby at birth gets the malaria from mother

Malaria can spread through blood so it can also get transmitted through organ transplant, use of same needles or razors, blood transfusion.

DIAGNOSIS of MALARIA

The doctor diagnose Malaria through general health enquiries , enquiries about your recent visit to any area that is malaria prone or the area you live, work if those are malaria prone zones. The doctor will also check the liver and spleen if enlarged etc. Few blood tests as required to know if there is malaria and other health condition as required.
