World Arthritis day



Proper diet and lifestyle changes can help in avoiding arthritis. We can make minor changes in our eating habits and lifestyle to minimize chances of arthritis. Arthritis is painful and can limit movement to some extent. It can hamper work and family life and overall quality of life.


  • Food rich in OMEGA -3 Fats like fatty fish, flax seeds, walnuts, eggs, sunflower seeds and sunflower oil etc
  • Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts
  • Vitamin D rich foods like meat, eggs, bread and dairy products. Some exposure to sunlight daily is also important
  • Ginger is helpful. Regular consumption of ginger juice, in tea, food can help a lot
  • Vitamin C rich food items like lemon, oranges, strawberries etc needs to be a part of diet


  • Daily work out is important
  • Walk for atleast 30-60 minutes daily
  • Stretching
  • Body massage by experts
  • Yoga (asanas) and pranayams (breathing exercises)
