MOST ASKED QUESTIONS

Our Centre comprises with highly specialized and proficient team of Oncosurgeons who are expert in accessing any tumor site with possibility of curative nature. The centre promises optimum cancer treatment and patient care.

Medical oncology is a type of cancer care that involves treatment using chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormone therapy, and targeted therapy. It effectively works in the treatment of cancer, when combined with other cancer care treatments such as radiation oncology and surgical oncology. Our services include

  • Dedicated adult & paediatric medical oncology OPD & IPD services
  • Chemotherapy for solid tumours
  • Chemotherapy for haematological malignancies
  • Personalized targeted therapy for various cancers

Radiotherapy is the treatment of cancer using lonizing Radiation by different modalities. This treatment can be administered from outside the body (external beam radiotherapy), or internally (brachytherapy). The centre offers a spectrum of radiotherapy treatment techniques such as

  • 3DCRT (Three Dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy)
  • VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy)
  • IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy)
  • IGRT (Image Guided Radiotherapy)
  • SRS (Stereotactic Radiosurgery)
  • SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy)
  • Electron Beam Radiotherapy
  • HDR Brachytherapy

Nuclear medicine is specialized area of
Molecular Imaging & Therapy that uses very small amounts of radiopharmaceuticals to examine organ function and structure to diagnose cancer and other malfunctions. Therapy is given by using the range of radioactive isotopes for different malignancies. The centre offers:

  • Siemens Biograph Horizon time of flight PET CT
  • Siemens Symbia SPECT-CT Gamma Camera Imaging system.
  • 4 Beded High Dose Radioactive iodine therapy Isolation ward
  • Targeted therapy for liver tumours (TARE)
  • Targeted Radionuclide Therapy for prostate & neuroendocrine tumours.
  • Radiation Synovectomy
  • Bone Pain Palliation

Palliative care primarily focuses on managing the symptoms caused due to cancer, which could be pain or other discomfort and supporting a better quality of life for patients. While delivering palliative care, we consider the hardships of both the patients and their caregivers and ensure to provide a humane and dignified end to the patient’s suffering.

  • PET CT: A PET/CT scan enables physicians to more accurately diagnose and identify diseases. A PET scan demonstrates the biological function of the body before anatomical changes take place, while the CT scan provides information about the body’s anatomy such as size, shape and location.
  • SPECT/CT: SPECT/CT combines two imaging techniques Combining these two-scan result in defined 3D images. This images will help doctor to evaluate the exact location, size and extend of the disease process – anywhere in the body.
  • Mammography: Mammogram, supports the early diagnosis and detection of breast diseases in women. It is a specialized medical imaging test that employs a low-dose x-ray system to see the tissues of the breasts.
  • Linac: A linear accelerator, also referred to as LINAC, is a machine that aims radiation with pinpoint accuracy, sparing nearby healthy tissues. It’s used to deliver advance external beam radiation therapy such as VMAT / Dy-IMRT / SRS /SBRT/ with IGRT
  • HDR Brachytherapy: In this method, the radioactive source of radiation is placed either very close or within the tumor itself to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. It can be categorised into interstitial, surface mould, intra-cavitary brachytherapy or intraluminal brachytherapy based on where the radiotherapy source is placed.
  • Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT): Also known as stem cell transplant, the procedure infuses healthy blood-forming stem cells to replace bone marrow that’s not producing enough healthy blood cells. Bone marrow transplants may use cells from your own body or from a donor.
